Team BikeExchange is a UCI WorldTour professional cycling team based in Australia, competing at the highest level of international road cycling. Dr. Boynton had the opportunity to present his PhD research to Team BikeExchange, sharing cutting-edge insights aimed at improving high-performance outcomes in endurance athletes. His doctoral work focused on the effects of environmental temperature on high-intensity interval training, and the session highlighted the real-world applications of his findings in a WorldTour environment.
During the presentation Dr. Boynton engaged with the team’s performance staff and coaches, offering evidence-based strategies to inform training, preparation, and race execution—particularly in extreme environmental conditions. The discussion provided an opportunity to give back to the professional cycling team that inspired a substantial portion of Dr. Boynton’s PhD research.
This collaboration reflects Dr. Boynton’s ongoing commitment to bridging the gap between sport science research and elite performance. His work strives to inform best practices across the endurance sport landscape.
